Wreck of Storjen - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Storjen, for us, is one of those wrecks that just screams "North Sea." It’s dark, it’s dramatic, and it’s always got that slightly eerie feel that only a deep, cold water wreck can deliver. We love dropping down onto its broken structure, seeing the sheer plates of metal encrusted with plumose anemones, their white tentacles waving in the slight surge. You’ll often find conger eels peering out from gaps in the hull, and the smaller fish, like wrasse, darting through the rusted framework. It’s not a coral reef, obviously, but the life here has a rugged beauty – the way the anemones create these ghostly white carpets, or how the dead man's fingers glow orange against the gloom. For those who appreciate the history and the challenging beauty of a proper wreck dive, Storjen delivers. It’s a dive for the more experienced, comfortable with limited visibility and colder temperatures, but the rewards are in that quiet exploration of a ship reclaimed by the sea.
