Wreck of Triad - Scottish East Coast & Borders

Diving a Scottish wreck is always an exercise in preparation, but the Triad, off the East Coast, usually makes it worth the effort. We love this site because it feels like a proper deep dive exploration, even at its shallower points. You're dropping onto the remains of a substantial vessel, and the metal structures are still very much intact, giving you something solid to navigate around. We always find the bow particularly dramatic, with its ghostly silhouette emerging from the green. Our favourite thing about the Triad is how the cold water and time have transformed it. It’s not about bright colours here; it’s about the textures – the rust, the anenomes that carpet the steel plates, the way the light filters through the kelp swaying above. Look closely and you’ll spot wrasse darting between the decaying beams and the occasional crab scuttling across a bulkhead. It’s a site for those who appreciate history and the quiet beauty of a wreck reclaimed by the sea. Just be ready for that distinct Scottish chill.
