Wreck of Unnamed Shipwreck - Canmore 102071 - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The "Unnamed Shipwreck" off the Scottish East Coast might not have a catchy name, but for those who love their wrecks moody and a bit mysterious, this is a real treat. We’ve found her to be a proper Scottish dive, all dark steel and shadowy corners, with visibility that can sometimes make the whole thing feel like you're exploring a sunken ghost ship. What we love about this one is how the cold, nutrient-rich waters have preserved her, creating a fantastic habitat for local marine life. As you descend, the wreck slowly emerges from the green gloom, often shrouded in schooling saithe, and you can spend a good chunk of your bottom time exploring her broken decks and superstructure. It’s definitely one for advanced divers comfortable with lower visibility and cooler temperatures, but the reward is a tangible sense of history and the chance to spot some chunky lobsters tucked into crevices. Our favourite dives here have been when a slight current is running, bringing in more fish life and giving the whole scene a dynamic feel.
