Wreck of Unnamed Shipwreck - Canmore 195222 - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Unnamed Shipwreck, Canmore 195222, is a proper Scottish East Coast dive, murky and full of character. We’re talking about an old girl here, a scattered but identifiable wreck that feels genuinely historic. The hull plates are mostly gone, but the ribs stand tall, like skeletal fingers reaching up from the seabed. You’ll find sections of machinery, perhaps an engine block, now completely encrusted with dead man's fingers and anemones. It’s a dive for those who appreciate the quiet history of the sea, who don’t mind a bit of low visibility, and who get a kick out of exploring a wreck that’s truly given itself back to the ocean. Our favourite time to visit is on a calm, overcast day; the ambient light filtering through the green water just adds to the atmosphere. Look closely amongst the structure for crabs, and we’ve even spotted ling lurking in the deeper crevices. This isn't a brightly coloured coral reef, it’s a sombre, fascinating journey into the past.
