Wreck of Unnamed Shipwreck - Canmore 195227 - Scottish East Coast & Borders

There’s a real mystery to this unnamed wreck off the Scottish East Coast, and we love a dive site that makes you feel like an explorer. Descending onto it, you’re often met with that classic North Sea green, a muted light that makes the wreck’s skeletal remains feel even more dramatic. Visibility can vary wildly, but on a good day, the outline of the hull stretches out before you, draped in kelp and sea squirts. It’s not a site for spotting big pelagics, but the macro life here is exceptional. We've seen some enormous edible crabs tucked into crevices, their claws waving cautiously, alongside various colourful nudibranchs clinging to the metalwork. Our favourite part is navigating through the broken sections, imagining the ship's final moments. It’s a dive for those who appreciate history and the quiet beauty of a forgotten vessel slowly being reclaimed by the ocean, rather than a vibrant coral reef. Definitely one to check when the weather's played ball and the surge isn't too strong.
