Wreck of Unnamed Shipwreck - Canmore 195232 - Scottish East Coast & Borders

There’s a real mystery to this unnamed wreck off the Scottish East Coast, and that’s part of its charm. We love a site that makes you feel like an explorer, and this one delivers. Dropping down, you’re often greeted by the murky green embrace of the North Sea, but don't let that deter you. The hull itself is a skeletal beauty, draped in kelp that sways with the surge, making for some dramatic wide-angle shots. As you get closer, the structure becomes clearer. There are beams and plates, twisted into abstract shapes, providing plenty of nooks and crannies to peer into. We’ve found wolf fish hunkering down in the deeper sections, their grumpy faces peering out, and often, a resident conger eel that's grown quite accustomed to divers. It’s a dive for those who appreciate history and don’t mind a bit of a low-visibility challenge. Best attempted on a calm day with a neap tide, when the current relents just enough for a proper wander around.
