Wreck of Unnamed Shipwreck - Canmore 96657 - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The ‘Unnamed Shipwreck’ off the Scottish East Coast – Canmore 96657 – is less a single attraction and more a collection of scattered bones. This isn't one of those intact, upright vessels, and we love that about it. Instead, you're descending onto a debris field, pieces spread across the seabed, each telling a whisper of a story. We’ve found huge sections of hull plating, twisted and crusted, and what looks like steam machinery, all now home to the local critters. Our favourite parts are hunting for those smaller, intriguing finds – pottery shards, perhaps a porthole frame if you’re lucky, or just the sheer scale of the broken timbers. It’s a dive that rewards keen eyes and a patient approach. The visibility here can be… *Scottish*, but on a good day, the low light filtering through the kelp forest that often surrounds the site lends a really atmospheric feel to the wreckage. Look closely, and you’ll spot wrasse darting between the plates and nudibranchs grazing on the encrusting life. It’s perfect for divers who appreciate the history as much as the diving, and who don’t mind a bit of a treasure hunt on the seabed.
