Wreck of Unnamed Shipwreck - Canmore 96679 - Scottish East Coast & Borders

For those of us who love a proper wreck dive, the Unnamed Shipwreck off the Scottish East Coast is a fantastic, moody experience. It’s got that classic North Sea vibe: dark, mysterious, and absolutely loaded with history. We’ve done this one a few times, and what really gets us is how much of the structure remains. You can still make out the bow and stern, and the holds often have enough open space to safely poke your head in, though we always recommend proper wreck training for penetration. Vis can be a bit variable here, as you'd expect, but on a good day, it’s decent enough to really appreciate the scale. You'll find plenty of inquisitive wrasse darting in and out of the plating, and crabs make their homes in every crevice. Our favourite detail is probably the way the anemones have utterly colonised parts of the deck, creating these unexpected splashes of colour against the rusted metal. It’s not a shallow dive, so it’s best for experienced cold water divers who appreciate the atmospheric pull of a genuinely old ship rather than just big pelagics.
