Wreck of Unnamed Shipwreck - Canmore 96714 - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The unnamed wreck, Canmore 96714, off the Scottish East Coast, isn't a deep-water behemoth, and that's precisely why we love it. Its shallower depth means good bottom times and a chance to really explore. We've often found ourselves tracing the outline of her collapsed hull, the metalwork now draped in seaweeds and anenomes, feeling the pull of the subtle current that keeps the water moving and clear. This site offers an intimate look at history, her timbers and plates softened by the sea, but still very much a ship. You'll likely encounter curious wrasse flitting through the gloom, along with lobsters tucked into any crevice they can find. It's a dive best suited for those who appreciate the quiet dignity of a wreck slowly being reclaimed by the ocean, rather than a bustling reef. Our favourite way to dive it is on a calm day, when the light penetrates just enough to pick out details, making the whole experience feel like an archaeological expedition.
