Wreck of Vrow Anna - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Vrow Anna isn't about tropical colours, it’s about history and atmosphere, and that’s why we love it. Down in the chilly North Sea, this Dutch coaster lies broken but surprisingly intact, giving you a real sense of its final moments. We’ve found the stern section particularly photogenic, with its prop still in place, often silhouetted against the murkier light. This is a dive for those who appreciate the quiet drama of a cold-water wreck. You’ll weave through cargo holds that often shelter a grumpy conger eel or two, and the twisted metal beams are draped in dead man's fingers. Visibility can be a challenge here, so we always plan our dive for slack water and a rising tide to get the clearest conditions. It’s not a deep dive, but the low visibility and potential for surge mean it suits experienced cold-water divers who are comfortable navigating in less-than-perfect conditions. Think more exploratory than scenic.
