Wreck of Watsons - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Wreck of Watsons isn't about tropical colours. This is proper Scottish wreck diving, and we absolutely love it for that. Dropping down, you're looking for that ghostly shape emerging from the green, often silty, water. It’s a challenge, sure, but the reward is a tangible connection to history. We've spent hours poking around the collapsed hull sections, imagining the ship's final moments. Our favourite part is finding where the light just barely penetrates, illuminating schools of saithe that dart through the structure, or spotting the occasional anglerfish tucked into a crevice, perfectly camouflaged. We’d suggest timing your dive for slack water, always. Otherwise, the currents can be a real beast, turning an enjoyable exploration into a fight. It’s a dive for those who appreciate the quiet drama of a historical site and the hardy marine life that calls it home, rather than the flash of a coral reef.
