With 269+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales and great white sharks - SS Clan Monroe offers some of Cape Town & Western Cape's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 14-16°C, warmest February, March, April.
The SS Clan Monroe sits upright on the seabed, a freighter sunk in 1941. We usually find it in decent condition, with plenty of entry points into the holds for those qualified and experienced in overhead environments. Look for schools of hottentot fish, often darting through the superstructure. It's a dive best suited for advanced divers comfortable with colder water and potential low visibility, as conditions here can be variable.
