Benthos Buceo - Canary Islands

Benthos Buceo, from our experience, isn't just another Canary Islands dive. We'd rank it as a standout, particularly for those with a keen eye for the unusual and the pelagic. We often find ourselves scanning the blue here, because the open ocean encounters can be genuinely extraordinary. Imagine seeing Orca glide past, or the sleek torpedo shape of a Bryde's Whale. It’s not an everyday occurrence, but the possibility always makes the dive exhilarating. Down on the reef, it's a completely different vibe. We’ve found Guinean Pufferfish peeking from crevices, and the delicate antennae of Mediterranean Slipper Lobsters waving from under ledges. Keep an eye out for the iridescent Orange Ball Corallimorphs clinging to rocks, their colours almost glowing in your torch beam. For those who appreciate the smaller, more cryptic critters, you’ll find plenty to hold your attention. We particularly love hunting for Spiny Butterfly Rays tucked into the sand, their camouflaged bodies almost impossible to spot at first glance. It’s a site that rewards patience and a willingness to look beyond the obvious.
