Großes Muränenriff - Canary Islands

Großes Muränenriff, or "Great Moray Reef," delivers on its name. We’ve found morays here, lots of them, tucked into every crevice, sometimes two or three to a hole. It's a fairly easy dive, often with gentle currents, making it a good spot to linger and really observe the resident eels, along with ornate wrasse and schooling bastard grunt. Keep an eye out for a passing round fantail stingray on the sandy patches. This is a solid dive for anyone who appreciates the quieter moments of reef life, rather than high-octane pelagic action.
