SMIPE I - Canary Islands

SMIPE I, off the Canary Islands, is an interesting dive if you like your wrecks shallow and accessible. This fishing vessel went down in 1989 and now rests upright at a comfortable 13 metres. It’s not a huge wreck, but enough of the superstructure remains to make for a pleasant swim-through or two, and you can easily explore the deck. Shoals of barracuda often circle above the mast, and we’ve found cuttlefish tucked into the nooks and crannies. It's a relaxed dive, perfect for newer wreck divers or those looking for a chilled-out second dive.
