TIKONKO 7 - Canary Islands

Tikonko 7, sitting just off the coast in the Canaries, is one of those wrecks we keep coming back to. It’s a fishing vessel, and you can still see the lines of its working life etched into the hull. We love how accessible it is, making it a solid pick for divers getting comfortable with wreck diving without needing advanced certs. Dropping down, the first thing you notice is the light filtering through the clear Canary water, illuminating the superstructure. We’ve found a surprising amount of life here – schools of sardine often swarm the deck, creating a shimmering curtain, and we’ve spotted moray eels peeking from the nooks and crannies. Our favourite part is exploring the wheelhouse; it’s largely intact and feels like a genuine step back in time. For divers who appreciate history and a chance to explore a wreck that’s been truly adopted by the local marine life, Tikonko 7 is a fantastic afternoon dive.
