OLIMPIA/?OLYMPIA (POSSIBLY) - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The *Olimpia* is a proper piece of history down there, a trawler that went down in 1916. At 42 metres, it’s a dive for those with experience and a taste for deeper exploration. We love how intact she remains, resting upright on the seabed. You can still make out the triple-expansion engine and the single boiler, a real marvel of early 20th-century engineering. Despite the depth, visibility here often surprises us, especially on a calm day. The metalwork is encrusted with plumose anemones, their feathery tentacles swaying gently in the subtle current. We’ve spotted conger eels tucked into the darker recesses, and the occasional ling or cod patrolling the deck. Our favourite spot is around the stern, where the prop shaft is still visible, giving a real sense of her scale. It’s a dive that rewards careful navigation and a keen eye for historical detail.
