With 269+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales and great white sharks - Bordjiesrif offers some of Cape Town & Western Cape's richest reef diving. Water ranges 14-16°C, warmest February, March, April.
Bordjiesrif, near Cape Point, offers a relaxed dive with its gentle sandstone reef. We’ve found the reef slopes down gradually, creating an easy-going topography ideal for spending time spotting smaller critters. Expect to see some good soft corals clinging to the rock formations, and keep an eye out for shy shy sharks tucked into crevices. It's a solid choice for a second dive of the day, or if you're after something less demanding than some of Cape Town’s more exposed sites. Visibility here tends to be typical for the region, meaning it can vary, but on a good day, you'll get decent light across the reef.
