Seekombuis - Cape Town & Western Cape

The Pinnacle is one of those sites that just feels… different. It’s tucked away on the north side of Roatán, a bit east of Turtle Harbor, and it’s always a good time. The reef itself is a proper pinnacle, rising from the deep to within about 5 meters of the surface, so you get this really dramatic profile. We love starting shallower, exploring the top, where the light plays beautifully through the water. There are some cool, shallow channels we always poke around in, perfect for spotting Greenband Gobies and those tiny, goofy Redlip Blennies. Then, you can drop down the sides, heading toward the 25-meter mark. This is where we often see Safio and those sleek Great Barracuda just hanging out. Keep an eye out for Chain Morays tucked into crevices, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot a Coral Scorpionfish, perfectly camouflaged. We’d suggest going early in the morning, before the dive boats from West End get there, and always keep a bit of an eye on the blue – we've seen Whale Sharks here, though it's rare. Visibility averages 20 meters, which gives you plenty of scope to appreciate the size of the structure. It’s a site that suits divers who enjoy a bit of exploration and aren't afraid to go a little off the beaten path.
