Centro de Buceo El Hierro - Canary Islands
The team at Centro de Buceo El Hierro are just lovely, the kind of professional yet laid-back outfit you want when you’re diving somewhere new. They’re PADI and CMAS accredited, offering everything from your first Discover Scuba right through to Instructor courses. We particularly like them for their local knowledge; they know the Mar de las Calmas like the back of their hand and consistently find the quietest spots or the best conditions. Honestly, El Hierro can throw some curveballs with currents, but these guys navigate it with ease. We’ve had some truly fantastic dives with them, especially around the El Bajón area. You drop down and suddenly you’re in a swirl of barracuda, big schools of amberjacks, and those playful garden eels poking out from the sand. Our favourite memory is a dive where we just drifted gently along a wall, watching massive stingrays glide by, their shadows dancing on the reef. If you’re looking for a centre that prioritizes safety without sacrificing that genuine sense of adventure, and can show you the real magic of El Hierro’s volcanic seascapes, this is our pick.
