Los Gigantes Diving Centre - Canary Islands

The team at Los Gigantes Diving Centre are, quite simply, pros. They’ve been running dives here since 1990, and that kind of longevity translates into serious local knowledge. We love that they operate with small groups from their RIB, which means less time waiting around and more time underwater. If you're looking for a smooth, no-fuss operation that knows these waters inside out, these are your people. Our favourite dives with them often involve the deeper volcanic structures, places where the light plays differently through the water, revealing schools of barracuda shimmering just beyond the thermocline. One particularly memorable dive started with a gentle drift past an ancient anchor, encrusted with sponge, before descending to a sandy patch dotted with garden eels swaying in unison. They’re excellent at finding the smaller stuff too, like the colourful nudibranchs clinging to the volcanic rock faces. We’d suggest chatting with them about the best time for specific encounters, as local conditions can change quickly. They really shine when guiding you through the lesser-known crevices and caves, making you feel like you're exploring virgin territory. Expect to surface with a grin, already planning your next dip.
