Scubafriends - Canary Islands
The team at Scubafriends in Tenerife are a solid choice for anyone serious about PADI instructor development, but don’t just pigeonhole them as an IDC shop. They’re a really friendly bunch offering regular guided dives around Tenerife’s south coast too. We love their passion for teaching; you can feel it from the moment you walk through the door. We've spent a fair bit of time diving the Canaries, and Scubafriends consistently delivers. Our favourite trips with them have always been the morning two-tank dives – you’re back by lunchtime, leaving the afternoon free for other island adventures. They know the local sites inside out, particularly the volcanic reefs and wrecks around Los Cristianos. Expect to see plenty of cuttlefish hunkered down on the sand, octopus peering from crevices, and big schools of roncadores swarming over the rocks. The visibility is usually excellent, often pushing 30 metres, which makes those deeper volcanic formations feel even more dramatic. They’re super organised, kitting you out efficiently, and their boats are always well-maintained. A top pick for hassle-free diving and excellent instruction.
