BUSK - Scapa Flow, Orkney

BUSK, one of Scapa Flow's many blockships, offers a unique shallow dive experience. With a maximum depth of just one meter, you’re practically snorkelling over history. We’ve found her a fantastic spot for photographers looking for interesting light, or for newer drysuit divers getting comfortable with their buoyancy. What remains is mostly the stern section, scattered steel plates and ribs, now heavily colonised by kelp and anenomes. You’ll spot plenty of wrasse darting between the metal, and often juvenile pollack sheltering in the nooks. It’s not a deep, dramatic wreck, but a fascinating glimpse into Scapa Flow’s wartime past, easily accessible and often very calm.
