The G 89 is an interesting little dive, a destroyer that went down with the rest of the German High Seas Fleet back in 1919. It’s shallow, really shallow, often just two meters, so you’re spending your whole dive exploring the upper structures. We’ve found the bow and stern surprisingly intact given its age, and you can still make out the torpedo tubes and gun platforms. Expect to see plenty of wrasse darting in and out of the metalwork, and the anenomes are starting to really bloom on the exposed sections. It’s perfect for a long, relaxed dive, especially if you’re keen on photography or just want to soak in a piece of history without the pressure of depth or currents.
