With 140+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - G92 offers some of Scapa Flow, Orkney's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 8-14°C, warmest July, August, September.
The G92 destroyer is an interesting little find in Scapa Flow, especially if you're keen on history without the deep-water commitment. Sitting in just three metres, it's perfect for a long, relaxed dive or even a snorkel if the conditions are right. We’ve found the wreck provides shelter for plenty of crabs scuttling over the plating and small shoals of blennies darting in and out of the tighter spaces. It’s certainly a shallower insight into the famous Scapa Flow wrecks, easily accessible, and gives a good feel for these scuttled vessels. A great spot for those less experienced or for getting in a quick second dive.
