With 140+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - MAJORKA offers some of Scapa Flow, Orkney's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 8-14°C, warmest July, August, September.
The Majorka sits deeper in Scapa Flow, a sailing vessel that met its end in 1917, torpedoed by a German U-boat. Dropping down to 50 metres, you'll find her largely intact, though time and the currents have taken their toll. We often find large balls of baitfish schooling around the mast, which lies across the deck, providing shelter for inquisitive wrasse and the occasional conger eel peering from crevices. It's a proper technical dive, best suited for those comfortable with deeper decompression, offering a different flavour of Scapa Flow's history away from the Grand Fleet.
