The Saint Magnus, a steamship sunk in 1918, rests at 49 metres within Scapa Flow’s often moody embrace. We’ve found her to be a particularly atmospheric dive, especially when the light is just right and the visibility pushes past the usual 10 metres. Her boilers and triple expansion engine are still largely intact, offering some intriguing swim-throughs for those comfortable with overhead environments and careful buoyancy. Expect to see plenty of wrasse darting between the metalwork and the occasional inquisitive conger eel peeking from a porthole. It's a dive best suited for experienced wreck enthusiasts who appreciate the history as much as the exploration.
