SILVER SPRAY (PROBABLY) - Scapa Flow, Orkney

The *Silver Spray* wreck in Scapa Flow, likely the *Silver Spray* at least, offers a compact dive at 44 metres. This fishing vessel, just under 20 metres long, sank in 1965 after colliding with the *Iolla Mhore*, another diveable wreck nearby. She sits upright and mostly intact, a real testament to how well these colder waters preserve things. We’ve found her to be quite photogenic, with the wheelhouse and stern sections still distinct. Expect to see plenty of squat lobsters tucked into crevices and plumose anemones waving from the superstructure, a colourful contrast to the dark steel. It's a great second dive after a deeper Scapa Flow expedition, or a solid main event for those who appreciate smaller, characterful wrecks.
