Wreck of Marzocco - Scapa Flow, Orkney

The *Strathgarry* isn’t one of Scapa Flow’s main German fleet attractions, but we’d argue she’s a standout nonetheless. This 1914 steam trawler lies relatively intact, listing slightly to starboard at around 15 metres, making her accessible for a longer bottom time. Our favourite part? The stern, with its rudder still in place and the propeller blades reaching out from the seabed. She’s completely carpeted in anemones and dead man's fingers, brilliant oranges and purples everywhere. Inside, you can penetrate the engine room, a tight squeeze but worth it to see the machinery still standing proud. Look for the resident curled octopuses peeking from crevices; they’re often curious. It’s a dive that rewards slow exploration, peering into every nook and cranny.
