Wreck of Unnamed Shipwreck - Canmore 101713

Okay, so you’re in Scapa Flow, and you’re looking beyond the big German fleet wrecks. Good. Because the Unnamed Shipwreck, Canmore 101713, often gets overlooked, and that’s a mistake. We love this site for its genuine sense of discovery. It’s not the biggest, nor the deepest, but it's a wonderfully atmospheric dive, perfect for those days when the weather's a bit frisky topside, or you just fancy something a little less… grand. Dropping down, the first thing you notice is how the kelp sways, giving way to the darker, more industrial outline of twisted metal. This wreck has that proper, forgotten feel. You can poke around bulkheads and frames, imagining the ship's original purpose. Our favourite part is the way the light filters through the greener parts of the flow, illuminating clouds of small pollock darting between ribs of steel. Keep an eye out for nudibranchs, often found clinging to the encrusting sponges and anemones that have completely taken over parts of the structure. It’s a site that rewards a slow, observant dive, rather than a quick dash.
