Wreck of Unnamed Shipwreck - Canmore 102240 - Scapa Flow, Orkney

The *Argyle* isn't the grandest wreck in Scapa Flow, but it’s one we always enjoy for a relaxed dive. We find it’s a brilliant introduction to the Flow's wrecks, especially if you’re still getting your bearings in colder water. You'll drop onto a hull encrusted with sea stars and anemones, where lobsters peek from every crevice. Schools of dab often scatter from under your fins, making for a pretty scene as you follow the lines of the old vessel. Our favourite part is exploring the holds – they’re open and easy to navigate, even when visibility drops a bit. We'd suggest taking your time to really look at the growth; the sponges and hydroids here are just beautiful. It’s a shallower wreck, making for longer bottom times, and it suits anyone who wants to experience a historical wreck without the full challenge of the deeper battleships. Just remember your drysuit, even in summer the North Sea bites!
