Wreck of Unnamed Shipwreck - Canmore 102905

There are so many wrecks in Scapa Flow, it’s easy for some to get overlooked. The Canmore 102905, an unnamed vessel resting on the seabed, is one of those quieter dives that we really appreciate. It’s not one of the German High Seas Fleet giants, no, but this unknown ship has a character all its own. As you descend, the visibility can range from ‘decent’ to ‘pea soup,’ so be prepared for a real Scapa experience. The wreck itself is largely intact in places, with ghostly ribs of metal reaching up from the silty bottom. We love the way the light filters through the water, illuminating patches of the hull and the abundant plumose anemones that cling to every surface, like thick white fur. Keep an eye out for curious wrasse darting in and out of the darker sections. It’s a dive that encourages slow exploration; you can really spend time examining the details, imagining the ship’s original purpose. This one is best suited for divers who appreciate the history and solitude of a lesser-dived wreck, and who aren't afraid of a bit of chill. Bring a good torch and take your time.
